POC Synapsis Helmet

The Synapsis helmet has been developed to be ultra light, without sacrificing protection or safety. It weighs in at feathery 375 grams and is certified according the CE-1077 as well as ASTM standards.Thanks to challenging and overcoming industrial obstacles, it has been doable, using POCs patent pending ABP, Bullet Proof Anti Penetration Barrier. The Aramid is placed in-between the extremely thin vacuum molded outer shell and the EPS-liner, in the injection process. Thanks to finally succeeding, with the complicated process, the helmet withstands penetration, despite its low weight.

Furthermore, all excesses have been aborted. There is no turning ring for adjustable fit, the padding is reduced to what is really needed, metal parts are reduced to a minimum and the lightest materials available are used, to keep the weight down. So for those of you seeking a ventilated helmet at minimum weight, without comprising safety, there is Synapsis.

POC’s ‘semi-hard shell’ helmets
Using unique high-technology production methods and a patented design feature, we combine the best of two worlds. POC’s helmets provide you the advantages of both hard-shell and in-mold helmets in one. On the out-
side there is a fully enclosed superthin and extremely light shell. Inside this is POC’s patent pending, Aramid ballistic penetration barrier. Next there is a sandwich construction of shock-absorbing EPS and patches of Supracor polyurethane honeycomb (in the Skull Comp helmet) that absorb and distribute energy progressively. Interior lining is made of soft comfortable foam, easy to take out for cleaning. (all Skull helmets )

POC’s revolutionary double shell helmets
Improving properties such as better shock absorption, lower weight, and resisting penetration are some of the major advantages solved by using POC’s patent pending, Aramid ballistic penetration barrier: APB. Transferring those qualities and lessons learned into
a fully ventilated system has led to a new revolutionary, patent pending; Ventilated-Double-Shell- Anti-Penetration: VDSAP.

This concept was initially developed for the Receptor + all season helmet. A helmet developed and certified in Europe and the US for skiing, snowboarding, skate-
boarding, biking and water sports. VDSAP is built with double shells with ventilation, placed offset, for maxi-
mum penetration resistance and channels in between to evacuate heat, moisture, or water. The inner shell is an extremely thin in-mold shell, while the outer shell is a hard shell of ABS and PC. The properties are amazing and will from this season on be used for the helmets in the new BUG Series as well. (all Receptor helmets)

POC’s new and unique in-mold helmets
Starting from the amazing properties of our Skull Comp helmet, we have taken the technology further by incorporating its Aramid ballistic penetration barrier APB, in a new series of in-mold helmets – Synapsis. This has enabled us to overcome the traditional problems of in-mold helmets breaking easily and not withstanding penetration.

Our new helmets are designed to offer low weight, ventilation, and comfort without compromising safety. They use soft foam pads for a perfect individual fi t and have detachable ear pads for spring skiing. (all Synapsis helmets)
